Are you an experienced Process Engineer?

Do you consider yourself to be analytical, solution-driven, and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around the South West?

We have a fixed term Process Engineer role available within BD's technically advanced Push Button production line. This role is ideal for someone with strong problem-solving and process improvement experience and is data-led, collaborative, and improvement-focused.

Role: Process Engineer

Location: BD, South West

Rate: £40,000 – £45,000

Shift Patterns: Day shift

Responsibilities:

  • Lead investigation and resolution of loss issues including breakdowns, waste, and speed
  • Implement and improve maintenance processes on designated product lines
  • Generate and update 4-block plans, bottleneck actions, and focus KPI targets
  • Provide shift teams with data-led direction using MES, PAB, and VOA systems
  • Drive center-lining activities for sustained performance
  • Implement Poka-Yoke solutions and drive Quality Notification (QN) reductions
  • Lead initiatives to improve safety, quality, and waste reduction metrics
  • Attend meetings and allocate resources to address line issues effectively
  • Apply systematic root cause analysis for recurring losses
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) projects and validation activities
  • Advise on Maintenance Standards and improvements for reliability
  • Provide coaching on CI tools and methodologies
  • Support in breakdown situations when required

Essential requirements:

  • HNC or Degree in Engineering, Mechatronics, or a similar field
  • 5+ years of technical/manufacturing experience in high-speed automated assembly and packaging environments
  • Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
  • Experience in quality systems and safety in manufacturing
  • Data analysis proficiency and ability to interpret operational KPIs
  • Effective team player with leadership and mentoring abilities
  • Strong communication and decision-making skills under pressure

Desirable requirements:

  • Driving license and use of a car
  • Some PLC experience preferred
