The Everyday Banking (EDB) Platform includes four core labs, responsible for end-to-end journeys for Banking and Savings products, delivering a market-leading customer experience via servicing Debit and Credit cards across multiple channels. Our agile teams are based in London, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Hyderabad, India.

What you’ll do
The Engineering Lead is a key leadership role responsible for setting team direction, fostering a successful environment, and ensuring effective delivery of technology change and operational activities. They promote a culture of continuous efficiency improvement, manage risks and resilience, and control costs. They collaborate closely with Product Owners to align technology considerations with business decisions.
- Design, develop, and deliver custom data management systems.
- Develop capabilities within the team and mentor others to grow their skills.
- Lead change management initiatives aligned with organizational strategy.
- Implement IT Security policies across the organization.
- Lead large teams to fulfill business plans for significant functional areas.
- Set long-term objectives and foster a performance-driven culture.
- Contribute to major product development programs to support corporate strategy.
- Develop strategies to meet medium-term business needs, addressing challenges and opportunities.
What you’ll need
- Proven experience in defining technology vision and architecture, collaborating with lead architects.
- A strong focus on technology, with a track record of optimizing systems and processes.
- Experience in enhancing team productivity, morale, and efficiency.
- Solid background in resilience and security by design, with ownership of production issues and a customer-first approach.
- Passion for talent development, fostering a product mindset, and attracting top engineering talent.
- Experience in building high-performing teams capable of delivering solutions within demanding timelines.
