About the Role:
- Teach English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of teaching at GCSE and A Level depending on experience and interest.
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities.
- Use a range of teaching methods and resources, including interactive whiteboards, technology, and manipulatives, to bring English to life for students.
- Assess student progress, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support individual learning journeys.
- Contribute to the department’s curriculum development and resource creation, ensuring that our English curriculum remains relevant and challenging.
- Foster a love of English in students, encouraging them to explore the beauty and power of English in the world around them.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in the department and across the school to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching practice and keep abreast of the latest developments in English education.
- Contribute to the wider school community through extracurricular activities, such as English clubs and literary societies.
Ideal Candidate:
- Holds QTS or equivalent (or is eligible to apply).
- Possesses excellent subject knowledge in English Language and English Literature.
- Demonstrates a passion for teaching English and a commitment to student success.
- Has strong communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Is confident in building rapport with students and fostering a positive and stimulating learning environment.
- Has a good understanding of the National Curriculum for English and relevant examination specifications.
- Is committed to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
