JOB DESCRIPTION

Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry based in Aberdeen. This is a 12-month contract role with the option of hybrid working.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Contributing to the delivery of Engineering excellence through:

  1. Executing assigned scopes of work
  2. Supporting and supervising task delegation to team
  3. Providing discipline expertise to the business
  4. Coaching and mentoring as delegated
  5. Manage and supervise direct reports
  6. Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement
  7. Participate in audits and incident investigations as required
  8. Technically competent in own discipline and actively maintains own competence according to standards and pursues continuous professional development
  9. Provide discipline support to the business
  10. Check and approve piping design documentation
  11. Check and approve piping engineering documentation
  12. Approval of PED technical files
  13. Utilise Client’s standards for pipework design and procurement
  14. Selection of piping materials for specific applications
  15. Specification of piping materials, manual valves, pipe fittings and flanges
  16. Completion of technical evaluations on piping materials and fittings
  17. Review and approval of vendor documentation and certification
  18. Review of PDMS/E3D model for piping and plant layout
  19. Review of PDMS/E3D model for clash checking
  20. Review of dimensional control survey data for clash checking
  21. Review of cloud scan survey data for clash checking
  22. Provide technical expertise

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. MSc, MEng or equivalent professional qualification or BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
  2. Chartered Engineer or recognised equivalent
  3. Competent in own discipline to provide support to the business
  4. Demonstrate current knowledge with industry and technology development within discipline
  5. Communication in written and spoken forms
  6. Participate in audit and incident investigations as required
